Why do people say you're not a "true anime fan" if you like Naruto?

You'll mostly get that from older people. They just can't accept the fact that things have changed. It is the same as Justin Bieber or John Cena. Just because they don't like a person doesn't mean the person and his/her fan has to die. They are all completely retarded.
